How to make my business a business

Ok, so I'm all set to start trading.

I have a name which I'm using loosely to take pre-orders for my product, but I need to register it as a proper business.

How do I do that, and what kind of business do I register as?

I'd like to keep it simple, as I'm easily baffled by jargon.

It's basically just me at the moment, making a product then selling it. Fairly low turnover.

The two most common choices are sole trader and Limited company.

Both have pros and cons depending on things like your estimated turnover, risk etc.
