How to make money from organising events?

I want to organise events. e.g. restuarant meetups, drink after work meetups and other meetups. I think i will need to get very creative about it. The idea is to create a community fo people who want to meet and socalise then maybe try to make some money from it.

How will your events be different from existing events of this type? What experience do you have in organising and promoting these type of events? Funds come from membership, entry, sponsorship promotions, partnerships etc

Soo many free ones, look on meetup.com, theres probably 100-200 per month in just London alone, not sure how you would charge people unless you are an authority on a subject and have build credibility.
