Hi all, glad I found this forum!:)

We have a partnership as a couple, and some doubts on how to invoice.
Sometimes I am the point of contact for a client, some other time it is my partner (IT work).
We ourselves then decide how to split the work, this is invisible to the client.
As a couple we share everything economically, worth knowing for context.

These are the questions:

1) UTR numbers
Companies these days require the UTR number.
Do we put our own personal one or the partnership UTR?

2)taxes
Are we free to share the amount we receive as we like?

3)names
do we have to put both names on the invoice or the name of the point of contact is sufficient?

thank you kindly
I'm sure many are looking for these answers

1. If you work as a partnership then you use the partnership UTR
2. Profit share as per the partnership agreement
3. Invoice in the partnerships name

Probably worth visiting an Accountant as well.
thank you!

just to be clear, we share everything as a family. Our question is not based on any doubt as how to share the revenue.
Our doubts are literally just technical, what we should do to so that hmrc is happy, just that.

I am saying this because I think we invoiced once last year just with my partner name and UTR but the partnership name was also on the invoice
Is this ok? too late to correct but should we worry about this?
