How to handle eBay scammers alleging missing items?

Although I seldom sell on eBay, I recently sold a high-value camera with accessories totaling £900. Shortly after the parcel was delivered, the buyer claimed that the main items were missing, insisting that only an LED light was inside. They've initiated a case titled "item not as described."

Despite being certain that I included all items, how do I address such fraudulent claims on eBay?

The camera package comprised substantial items, yet the buyer asserts only the LED light was received, omitting the camera, microphone, and tripod.

Fortunately, I possess a shipping receipt and recorded weight indicating a significantly heavier package than just the LED light.

I'm open to any advice on handling this situation.

You handle the situation by dealing with the INAD case as per ebay proceedures. You can either issue a full refund now or issue a returns postage label so that your buyer can return the items they have received, you then issue a full refund once the items are returned to you.

If this buyer is genuine hopefully they will support you in a claim from the parcel carrier you used. If the buyer is a scammer then you have lost your camera equipment & the money.

You can do a lot to stop this happening in the beginning. Take photos/video of what is going in the box as you seal it up, record the weight, etc. eBay is getting better at working out who is telling lies but you can help too by taking precautions. It is (slightly) possible that something happened along the way, in which case your beef would be with the carrier.
