How to get firstpage in google?

S

That sounded like a challenge  - I love challenges  - But if you haven't already figured it out it would be a conflict of interest for me. I have at least 26 days before I can work on another PPI site. :D and only if the numerations tempt me.

Just out of interest, what would a "first page of google" description cover?
Even google.co.uk results can vary enormously depending on the location, and whether a user is logged in to google or not.

If I google for "Web Design Company Manchester" then empire-media.co.uk shows on page 5, yet I am sure if you are closer to manchester it may very well appear on page 1. (I guess that means you don't exist for some but you do for others :D )

When results can vary so much I would have thought it almost impossible to be on page 1 for every user that is searching for a specific keyword (without using adwords)

Yeah, dropped a few pages whilst doing the new website, website company Manchester still there though.
As soon as new website is finished I will do a campaign and leave it. In my town we are page 1. More importantly all our clients are :)

With google concentrating on local searches, it makes it increasingly more frustrating to check the actual position. it is now necessary to get several people from several locations to search for the keywords to get an "average" position.
Not such an issue for "Manchester website design" as long as it ranks high for Manchester users, but for others trying to reach a broader market (not saying Manchester is small :D )as I am sure you know, it's getting more difficult just to check accurately.

I wouldn't be too hooked up on ranking for certain keywords and instead, concentrate more on other stats such as number of keywords, visitors numbers, bounce rates etc.
It can be a futile attempt (and frustrating) to do so.

Usually it takes 6 months. But Search Engine optimization makes it easier and earlier. To get first page in google does not mean the page rank. Its all about SERP(Search Engine Ranking Position). If our backlink is present in many valid and quality websites, sure to be in first page of google. To get those quality backlinks, we need to do Off-page optimization.

Seriously, you have more chance of getting on page 1 for your relevant keywords with a video, and a video gets noticed more than a text link. It's also possible that you could also get a page 1 link to your site using a well crafted press reease. I've been testing this and it works for me. I can prove it.

Ok - lets see what you can prove.

First of all - this is not proof at all - in fact its evidence to the contrary.
1st example you give - the search they needed to be found under is digital software engineer or Digital tv software engineer - Yes they appear under a term, but not their most popular.

I didnt bother going past the first example - when i looked at the terms they were ridiculous to compare.

And no urls - so I dont understand why you PM'd me (i did not request a PM)

Okay to prove how effective our videos are, go to Google and type in these phrases or just copy and paste from here:

tv software engineering specialists

dog transport service in cambridge

essential vitamin suppliers

temporary body art crystals

sushi catering courses uk

free diy legal forms

gardening supplies & sundries

virtual tour video services

tool hire london areas

krill oil capsules

digital installations in herts area

contract cleaning services in croydon

So you see they are all on the first page of Google search results for relevant terms relating to the businesses, and these are just a few examples from a cross section of businesses that we have created videos for.

Now to see how effective press releases are, go to Google and type in the following search terms, and look for the ukbusinessforums.co.uk url below the titles:

video production and marketing service for small businesses

video marketing for small uk business

affordable video advertising for small business

copywriting services provider

All on the first page of the search results.

That's quite a bit of proof and that's not even including the websites we have got to the first page of Google.

I don't get you at all. You asked for proof and I have provided it. Even then you dispute it. You asked for proof and the proof involves visiting urls so you can see where they rank in Google. I had to PM you because of the rules.

Don't drag this out, I don't want to get involved in any tit-for-tat stuff, I'm too busy okay?

With no dis-repsect Busy, but the OP asked how does he get to page1 of google for Holiday/Holiday Company, Not Krill Oil Capsules

Just had a look on google and krill oil capsules get 6.9 searches a day, holidays gets 670,684 a day
Isnt that like a Pub Team going to Old Traford for the Euro Qualifiers

I could set up an ebay account and get to page 1 within minutes with Krill Oil Capsules, bet if I did the same for holidays it would be unranked

Okay point taken but many people just don't get it when it comes to long tail keywords or keyword phrases in terms of video marketing. Obscure is not the same as un-searched for. For example if you were looking for a driveway cleaning service in your local essex area you might type into Google "driveway cleaning service essex", which is not obscure at all and quite feasable that someone would use these terms. As long as the video has these terms included somewhere in the title it has a good chance of being found. That's how video marketing works.

So stick that in your club 18-30

The Op was just a spammer i reckon but thats not the point .. i am way way way to busy to do anything Free or otherwise at the moment as its to damn sunny here . Now if it was raining wet miserable then i would be tempted to spend 20 minutes and do it but not at the moment.

But i bet you couldnt get your Krill to number 1 as you state ? and you have wet miserable weather

I think that BigVids tool to promote is a great idea - I think it was just put across wrong. On certain products and subjects I could believe it to work very very well, but as an SEO add on - Not a replacement.

@Bigvids - didnt mean to sound harsh - Fasting is making me cranky  - felt like you were misleading the OP

Dito,

I have seen how effective You Tube videos are for getting to page one, there is even a you tube video to show you how to get to page one in 10 minutes, but like Ali says "for certain products and subjects", the OP is talking about the holiday sector here. A video isnt even going to come close....How would google differentiate the right video for the word "holiday".....I don't want to see Jack and Deidre's holiday video when I m searching for my next trip to the Maldives.

I am no seo expert but if I had the bright idea of setting up an online holiday company I know dam well that my SEO/website budget is going to be £00,000's to even have a cat in hells chance....if an SEO companies best idea was to make a viral I would drop them like a brick.

Which bit of the way way to busy baffled you ? and my life is a long holiday Nothing on that holiday would appeal in the slightest .. but still looking for the ebay site ?

Strange that as if i or indeed others was tempted to look for a holiday to the Maldives , what could be far better than looking at the search results and seeing a VIDEO saying "Maldive Holidays at these best cheapest locations Check Maldives video here " blah blah . wow how great that could be actual video showing the location or hotel etc etc .. with a neat backlink to the booking website for all the taking the booking and more details etc etc .

If a SEO company ignores videos then indeed they are NOT giving the best for there clients !!! So your wrong yet again .. BUT remember its a PART of good SEO and NOT instead of thats the key .. that with fast quality hosting SEO inbuilt web construction and lots of other bits and bobs ..

How very very short sighted you are ..

Big Pete - No - No - No - You never said what Bigvids said was misleading - You never knew I was fasting - And at what point did you say I was being harsh. :|

You also misquoted me - I said its "a tool to promote". most of the videos listed by Bigvids (unless i am mistaken) are youtube hosted. Can you see where I am going with this.

And as for shorth sighted - We are the worlds first

To busy doing what, working on Krill2 The killer Oil Capsules Video, it must of taken you near on twenty minutes to quote yourself and others of how fabulous your Busy/Holiday lifestyle is you must have the strangest of holidays..

Dont take up anymore of your busy time looking for my ebay listing I wouldnt work with anything that get 6.9 searches a day thanks.

Again how would google differentiate between "Our Cheap Holiday to the Maldives" and "Cheap Holidays to the Maldives"...

Where am I wrong, I said if I was to start a online holiday business and the SEO companies "BEST" idea was to make a video then I would drop them, from my own research I would of seen that no videos appear in google search for "COMPETITIVE" keywords in the Holiday sector, so little short sighted me would think my money would better used on other SEO to have a chance of a battle with "lastminute.com"

BUT remember its a PART of good SEO and NOT instead of thats the key .. that with fast quality hosting SEO inbuilt web construction and lots of other bits and bobs ..

For the right Product/Subject

How very very short sighted you are ..

Hold on a minute wasnt it you who said you could get a video to page 1 of google in 20 minutes, for competitive keywords in the holiday sector...and you have the cheek to call me short sighted...Pot and Kettle

Listen up all those who don't understand how video marketing works, which seems to be most people contributing to this post. Before you all rush off and check your keyword tools again, take note that Google doesn't list many long-tail keywords, usually confining them to 3 or 4 words max. That doesn't mean that longer keyword phrases don't get searched for, it's just that Google don't keep records of them.

Now let's look at one of the video titles I referred to earlier for my friend who wanted proof. "Digital TV Software Engineering Specialists - TV Software Support Service" was one of the actual video titles, and so why so long? Because if you break it into any number of phrases using any combination of these keywords you'll get multiple chances of showing up on page one in several Google search page results.

For example, if you break the title up into these individual phrases for search:

digital TV software engineering specialists
digital TV software engineering
digital TV software
digital TV software support
digital TV software support specialists
digital TV software support service
digital TV software service
TV software engineering specialists
TV software engineers
TV software support specialists
digital TV support

Every one of these terms will return the video on page one of the results. Okay not all will show up in Google's keyword tool results but again that doesn't mean they are not being searched for. In any case some of the shorter phrases will show up.

Now to all of you who thought it funny about the krill oil capsules video title. Get out your keyword tool and try "krill oil capsules". This will return a monthly 3600 global count and a 210 local count. The company sells products worldwide but for arguments sake let's say it was just in the UK. Those 210 results, which shows a CPC of £0.93 equates to £195 a month being spent on this keyword phrase by the adwords advertisers.

Given that videos showing on page one of the search results are 41% more likely to get clicked on than their text counterparts, which includes those pesky ads on the right-hand side, a one-time low investment for a video will pay off in the first month. And given that videos stick around for years that amounts to a pretty good long term investment.

Finally, someone mentioned YouTube like it wasn't important. Fact is YouTube is owned by Google and is now recognised as the second biggest search engine on the planet and the third most visited website in the universe.

You can find more facts about video marketing here: (http://www.fuseiq.com/services/video-production)

Hope that clears things up with regards to video marketing being a good choice for getting into the first pages of the Google search results.

I enjoy the 'free ticket to the top of the serps' which is given to local, shopping, video and news (at times), though am likely not doing as much with it as could possibly be done.

In the past, we've approached video as if it was Wikipedia or Yahoo Answers, using it as an independent traffic driver and provider of authority, rather than a direct SEO tool.

While I'm not ready to abandon my tried and tested methods, this does give reason to pause and reflect on just how video is being underutilised and how much of an impact it can make.

I've looked at some of the Busyvids.co.uk videos and am impressed with the value (good quality for that price point), and am currently planning a couple of promotions based on them.

3rd Not really sure how this figure is provided as comparable. Where is this stat come from.

Also, YouTube is a video site with a search facility not a search engine. Huge difference there. But the rest is correct :)

OK - ask for an answer and you give a link to a website that is not google nor is it news nor does it have the answer.
Other than a blog from 3rd party source can you back up your figures.

Just to make it more tangible - If a video is right at the bottom of the screen below the fold, lets say for "digital TV software" what are the chances of it getting a 41% click through - even though it is niche. surely they would have searched for a video if thats what they were looking for.

And on most mobile devices which are quickly becoming the most popular way to access the net - do you think a person searching for an Item will click on a video instead.
