Hello, I have had a really good idea, but I don't have the money to build or market it at the moment. I have recently lost my job as well so I don't have much until I find work again. I am wondering how I could go about writing up a pitch and how to get investors or funding for the product development?

Depending on the idea you have, you might want to try kickstarter. Else make sure you have a REALLY good business plan before you go looking for any investors.

you may want to look into crowdfunding there are plenty of crowdfunding platforms that will assist you with setting up a campaign to raise the money. You will need to have a business plan and be prepared to share your profits.
Another option would be getting in touch with investment angels which are wealthy individuals that will fund your idea in exchange for stake in the business and of course voting power.

There are government grants available for starting businesses, however I'm not sure how they're affected when you're out of work.
