how to find out if someone has registered a name

I am yet to find a name for my company, but i wonderd how can i check if the company name i have chosen is already been chosen, Registered, tradmarked or copyrighted before.
Also where is the best place to register my company once i have found out a name etc. Im making hand made cards aqnd stationery so would this be nesscary. Basically i need some business on what is the best steps for me. Please can some one help me with this?

Companies house offer a free company name check service so you can see if the name you want is available. Only applies to Ltd companies. Google companies house for details.

Check domain names on www.who.is
Check company registered on www.companieshouse.gov.uk
Check is name is taken in any other way with a simple Google search of the name

Thats fine and we will all help but many of your posts are just simply repeating yourself.
What I recommend you to do is listen to the answers people have put, google anything obvious, someone has already given you links.
