How to entice your online customers through your website

Visitor will come again & again towards the site and you may get more & more revenue. Yes the appearance is of course very important, but I think it is on a par with quality content and ACCESSIBILITY (easy navigation, fast loading etc)

People are all too aware of how quickly webpages should load and wont hang around for a slow loading page.

Although I use flash, if flash isn't installed I just display gifs because I wouldn't want to wait for a flash installer before I could carry on. Using my ADSL connection the times for loading appear OK to me and I assume users with dial up probably don't use flash. I would value comments from anyone with any experience in this subject.

Accessibility doesn't mean a site has to be visually boring.

Well designed site with rich graphics can still load at fast speeds (connection dependent) when built correctly.

I think you will be surprised by the penetration levels of flash player now.

Also, understanding your users and potential market will determine if you should or shouldn't be using flash in your site. Whats the likely hood of someone on dial say 58k (if that still exists) searching for fancy dress costumes? i'd say pretty slim, as they already know their experience of the web is probably really slow...

I have looked at your site, I would advice using .png rather than .gif in your flash movies. You will be able to make your cut out figures look much smoother than they currently are.

I agree - do you also agree that sites should be developed to the latest design standards ie xhtml/css not tables (hence making a site streamlined for search engines) and that elements such as title tags should never be over crammed with keywords?

I also think that a site should be regularly updated, so for example say it was the March and your site was still geared towards the christmas market/business time then this would be a bad thing...

Tables have their use, that is for displaying tabular data!

Thanks for all your help, Next update I'll change all my Gifs to PNGs. and I'm only just learning how to usee stylesheets to alter the page layout. Does this alter the load times for the end user or just make it easier for the bots to search your site.
Every time I look at my site traffic googlebot seams to be searching my naughty but nice section, it must be a male googlebot.

It also helps to use language and grammer correctly which the homepage of your site does not. Obviously English is not your first language so i would suggest that you get somebody to work through it as it will help you attract more custom outside of India.
