how to develop overseas market

After graduation I worked for a small company in Shanghai, which is specialized in exportation of Crystal Trophies. Of coure the products we supplied also including glasswares. But after three months work, I found myself in the middle of nowhere. I have no idea about how to find new customers, and there has no one from whom i can learn some practicle experience in my company.So i came here in the hope of getting some advices.
