To find out for free use the following

In Google in the search box type
link:www.yourdomain.com

In Yahoo type
linkdomain:www.yourdomain.com

Yahoo tends to show more links however I use another paid for tool to get links from other engines which shows even more, however I am still not convinced every link shows but the important ones do.

Check out this video by Matt Cutts at Google on the link operator http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjQ2QVQpaK0

I think if you want to check what this company have done, ask them to give you a report on the links created, most companies will keep a record. You can then click on the links and verfiy all has been done.

Remember that just like your website these links need to be crawled to show up in the search engines, it isn't always instant.

Have they told you what PR pages these links are comming from? More importantly have you had a change in ranking?

I get the same for the Google results to, however yahoo is showing 396.

Looking through the list of back links I see you have requested several backlink jobs do you how many you had after each job? If not you better ask for a report, I am sure they will be able to help.

Using my software I see 969 links in total with the majority being Forum Profiles, Forum Comments and blog comments - It is very rare for Google to show these types of links under the link: operator.

HI Vacman

Neither Google or Yahoo reports all the links. If you want to know that they have done their job - then ask for a report - and check they(the links) exist. Its the only way to be sure.

The important point is that if you have bought a backlink packet that you have varied the anchor text so that you don't get an overoptimisation penalty. If you have used an SEO company to build the links - then they should do that for you anyway.

Sounds like you are making progress anyway...the important part is not to expect overnight progress. Steady increase over 90 days is better than rocketing up in 30 days only do be wiped out for overoptimisation.

looks good.

If you paid an seo company to build links, then its pointless any 3rd party wasting time trying to explain to you how to use a link checker...

If the links the seo company built aren't indexed yet then they obviously won't show up. The seo company should be providing you a report of what they done, and it will be far more accurate than any of the suggestions you've had here. If they can't/won't provide a list, then that in itself is a pretty worrying sign.

You can use the following tools to find out the backlinks to your site,
backlinkwatch.com
linkdiagnosis.com

The another way is to type, inurl:yourdomain.com into Google and find the list of link where your site will be linked in the form of text link, direct link or anchor text.

Those first 2 (and 99% of other free tools like them) just pull data in from Yahoo anyway, so you might as well just go to the source yourself, rather than give a 3rd party access to your data. There is a warning against using linkdiagnosis here.

Using Google is a really bad way to see backlinks, as they deliberately don't even come close to giving you all the data. From the free sources, Yahoo are by far the best way.

Link:(domin with http) is the easiest, simple and perfect way to check your backlinks .. but if you didn't find any thing !! so its mean that you haven't make any backline .. do lots of free directories, do follow blog commenting, articles and much more ... make 2000 backlinks is not a piece of cake
