I totally agree with this. So many people don't want to spend money on a website these days which to me, is crazy.Depends if you want one that works or not. You can get throw together websites for £50 as suggested above that will give you a presence but if you want something that actually works and brings you business I'd say around £300 is reasonable.

Usually, those looking to spend £50 on a site are going to get exactly what they pay for, something that isn't going to be of much use and definitely not stand out from the crowd.
It all depends how important it is to you to have a good web presence. Having said that, £300 would get you a decent one if you chose someone like a creative freelancer who does good work but has low overheads and works from home etc.
