Thats true, sites like this tend to undervalue businesses. Look at the valuations of the likes of google, yahoo etc. and compare them to the market valuations, there's a huge difference.

I'm not surprised, according to that site google is worth about $2.4 billion, but their actual market capitalisation is in the region of $160 billion.

Google is not just valued on their website. When you put google.com into the valuer, it is only valuing what google.com is worth if sold as a domain.

Google have many other domains and the valuation had no relevance to the actual company.

The "worth" is a difficult one with forums. So many factors can determine the return you get from it. Very small changes, modifications, updates, or articles can greatly increase (or decrease) what a forum is worth. The other question is whether or not you calculate worth based on the forums alone, or the feeders you get from it?

It's not as easy as just looking at what was paid a few years ago for the forums. If you do that, you're not doing your due diligence properly.

It depends really because there can be high potential too. Lots of hits but no revenue?
