If you mean liability insurance , then as an individual subcontractor you are looking around a £100.00 for 5 to 10 million cover per anum.

But have a shop around to get the best deal.

Employers liability and liability insurance are two different things and also will depend on which trade your in.
As were in the roofing trade I pay a lot more than that,try simply business for a quote.

get contract work insurance (all risks) if i was you , these insurance companys like to put you in a snooker ,very good at demanding the money ,not so good at paying out also read the small print ,these guys like to put lots of get out jail free cards in there terms & conditions

ive had my bum cheeks whopped a few times by these sneaky beavers

simply buissnes ,will do a decent policy for a few hundred quid

Iused to get the £100 pound ones , but you will find there contracts are to open and the excess is realy high to claim

I think you mean Employers Liability & Public Liability are different things, Employers Liability IS Liability insurance. Liability Insurance is the generic term for the general class of insurance (proper name casualty insurance).

What type of trades?

If you are a bricklayer it could be £100 per capita (person) or if you are scaffolder £600 per person, so there is a big range to guestimate from. Also year of experience in the trade counts.

Also will you be going over 6 employees (or labour only subbies) if so it would be cheaper to look at a policy that rates on wages and turnover.

Public liability: ( protection aginst damage peoples property)

Employers liability : (protection for enyone you employ)


contract works : (protection of the work you are contracted to do )

basicaly im coverd if i fart in someones house

just the way i like it , in this claim blame culture

Actually for that you need Environmental Impairment Cover as this is usually excluded under public liability cover
