Guys, looking for an answer to the following question:

How important is it having links from different class C Ips

Specifically, I have 7 unrelated quality websites all nearly exactly the same IPs and want to interlink them, would it be worthwhile putting each site on a different class C IP?

the sites ip is so close its literally like:
108.108.57.45
108.108.57.46
108.108.57.47

So basically you want to create a mini link farm?

interlinking completely unrelated sites (and only 7 of them) is probably going to do absolutely nothing for your rankings.

You are better having links from sites that are related to yours in some way and make sure those links are one way only (them to you)

If you want to interlink them, then it would certainly be recommended to have them on different C class blocks.

Devaluing links within the same C class was one of the big changes that happened in the Florida update of November 2003 - before then, people would host thousands of sites on the same server and IP to link to a main site.

However, as above, you need to gauge the ROI from doing so. If these sites are unrelated, then I would think linking them together may only provide a limited impact.

It's not just cost of hosting in the ROI either - it's the fact that if you need 7 hosting accounts, your admin needs go up, especially with multiple hosts.

HAHAHA so getting 6 links from 6 PR5 sites that have 0 outbound links and are quality websites, will provide no benefit, are you kidding me?

LOL no.

They are eCommerce stores in 7 different languages and TLDs. I want them to rank in their given geo location..

Can anyone offer any advice to my actual question?

Ok now had we given advice to the 'actual question' that would have been wrong, because the question didn't give all the facts :)

part of geo success is links from domains with that local SLD ie. co.uk /org.uk etc. So if you have 6 different stores, all in different geo locations, internlinking directly is a risky move.

The reason for the questions was to try and get some more information.

it is like asking the question
"black or brown, what do you guys think?" shoes? or balls playing snooker? if shoes, what colour suit? if snooker then there are umpteen additional questions to establish an answer to a simple 2 option question.

I have hinted to you how to make best use, but you don't seem to want to learn to think about SEO. (far better than just being told).

I would link out from each domain through a chain of other sites, and I would then direct the link love back into the sites from a local based domain. a good linking structure will possibly increase the value of the inbound links, by allowing you to get maybe 6-12 good quality inbounds for each site, rather than just the one.

Doing it this way also negates the original concern about interlinking of closely related IP's.

:)
