Could anyone point me in the right direction on how to register a trade mark?

Yes, the IPO website does contain a wealth of information plus they are generally helpful if you ring up also. Good luck

I can do a basic clearance search for free if you want also, to check if there are any existing marks which may pose problems to an application should you make one.

1. make an application to the UK Trade Mark Registry
2. pay an official fee
3. once an application has been accepted by the Trade Mark Registry,you will get a certificate of registration
A UK registration lasts initially for ten years.
