How do they do it?

I received an unsolicited email from a company, which had an email link in it to allow you to get more info. When I clicked on the link it took me to a page where all my details were already correctly filled in (job title, email, phone, address) and I just needed to check the details and then click next.

I am assuming that the link in the email must have a bit of code in it that uniquely identifies me. Is that how it works? How much work does it take to set this up?

Thanks

Me too got an experience like this i think its all client scripting.
there are 2 types of scripting server side and client side ......
Client side scripting is simple and we can also make use of it easily.
It not some think related to hacking or something else, its purely programming.

No there is no need for database connectivity here.
Taking the data from database is very tough when compared to retrieving data from virtual memory.
I have actually done this type with java script.
So you can also try it by learning java script.
TRY IT:)
ALL THE BEST.
