If anybody can offer assistance I'd be grateful.

Messing around on wordpress trying to get used to it. I've inserted an image onto a web page, however when the mouse hovers on the image the full file path is displayed in the bottom left corner of the screen - as though the picture were a link, it is not.

File path being displayed on mouseover is:

mywebsite.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/name-of-image.png

I'm sure this isn't supposed to be happening, not is it desired.

Did a search online in respect of this issue but perhaps I didn't search very well as I couldn't find any answers.

If anybody can offer a solution that would be great - and if you can put it in layperson's terms, that would be even better!

Thanks

If the image is already in your post/page, go to the editor for that post/page, hover your mouse over the image and click on it to select it. Two icons will appear in the top left of the image. Click on the mountain image. In the window that appears Scroll down to the field that says Link URL, either click on the None button or delete everything in the field. Then just click on the Update button at the bottom of the window.

Hope this helps
