Hi I'm new to this forum. I work as a newbie estate agent.

My goal is to find phone numbers of everyone living in a specific area.

I want to call people and ask for business.

Is it possible to have a no cost way to call people on. The only thing I can think of is yellow pages.

Thanks I need all the help I can get.

Really appreciate this.

You also need to be aware that you cannot call anyone who is registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). Under new legislation if you do you could be facing big fines.

If you would like to know more about TPS and how to stay legal cost effectively give me a call on 033 33 58 33 33.

With regards to marketing I suggest you speak to AllUpHere.

Calling everyone in a specific area? Not sure this is very realistic for a) your sanity and b) getting positive responses. Could you maybe find a service provider (non competitor) and create an offer which they could email to people on your behalf in their newsletter? Might be a quick way to get in front of people without an outlay of cash?

And you're certain that 'everyone' with a phone number owns a property?;)

Wouldn't it be time productive for you to know which 'everyone' is a homeowner first? Your business approach is like shooting arrows in the dark:(

If you want to be compliant and avoid the potential for a large fine then you really need to ensure any data that you are using for outbound calling is screened against the TPS register. This has been a legal requirement since c.2004, however, as of 06 April 2015 the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) can now levy a fine for wilfully calling people on the TPS register with greater ease.

With the TPS register now standing at c.21m subscribers identifying ALL telephone numbers in an area will be of little value. Your hit rate via the phone is going to be low and a telephone call is is quickly forgotten.

If you want to go that route you can select consumer data which is fully compliant and which can be better targeted eg: homeowners (there are other selections). With a telephone number it will likely be low for a given area after filtering out TPS.

I would suggest a leaflet drop or targeted mailing would be better. People are more likely to keep a leaflet/letter about a service for the time it becomes of need. You could of course sample, say, 1 in 5 households you mail out to with a follow up call which may increase response and gain you some valuable feedback.

I'm afraid there is no easy way to freely achieve what you are considering. I would spend some time looking at your target audience, demographics and then look at a small scale test with low exposure. You can then use your 'pilot' campaign to refine and build on any successes.

All the very best

Adam
