How do I begin to optimize for Yahoo and Bing rankings?

My own experience has led me to conclude that Yahoo's search algorithm places more emphasis on on-page optimisation techniques (I'm sure I don't need to spell these out for you).

I've worked on projects where a bit of on-page optimisation had an almost immediate effect in Yahoo, whereas Google and Bing required a substantial amount of off-page optimisation.

That being said, there doesn't seem to be that many people using Yahoo these days...

I read the same article earlier this very week! An intersting read.

I'd say for starters to verify your site using their webmaster tools / sire explorer, pretty much the same as Google webmaster, then submit a sitemap, and then after a few days check out the analytics built within those tools for top keywords / search terms and optimise your pages accordingly.

This will also indicate that all of your pages are being crawled and indexed.

DM me if I don't explain myself well enough.

am I missing something? Are you not a SEO? Is that what you do?

Must admit, its an odd question for an SEO expert to ask

Why spend time optimising for other search engines? The vast majority of optimisation (common sense) techniques used with Google in mind work on Yahoo, Bing and so on.

Every single website I have got to page 1 of Google has also reached page 1 of Yahoo without any consideration towards it.
