Hi

You will most likely need a VPS (Virtual Private Server) or a dedicated server as apposed to standard web hosting in order to host DeskNow as it is a full collaboration suite.

Try speaking to Openmind Hosting, Phil there should be able to sort a solution for you.

Many Thanks

I'd recommend a VDS for such a product. There are a lot of options available in this regard.

How critical is availability to your requirement? And if you are using this as a backend for running a business I'd suggest choosing a host with a focus on backups, disaster recovery etc.

Maybe undoing the recommendations a bit here (sorry guys!), but they do have a list of hosting partners on their website - have you contacted any of them?

Hi Guys

Im looking for a hosting provider to host desknow and some website any recommandations

cheers

System requirements for Desnow are:-

  • Microsoft Windows (NT, 2000, 2003, 2008, XP, Vista or 7, 32 or 64 bit), or Linux, or Unix, or Mac OS X
  • Pentium-class CPU, 500 MHz
  • 256 Mb RAM
  • 120 Mb of hard disk space, plus disk space for users' data
  • Java 1.5.0 or later (already included in the Windows version)
Considering the requirements, a VPS or Cloud VPS would be a good option. You may check our cloud solution at http://www.eukhost.com/cloud-hosting.php

I run Desknow on Linux on an old DL360G1 and it works really well. You don't need high spec hardware. VPS is fine. Desknow has a backup system built in which will take a daily backup. You need to make sure that this is kept offsite to protect your data.
