Hello

I was thinking of starting my own hostel in the near future. Its geographical location is to be in the Caribbean area.

The idea is not original, but I have a few concepts that can put it over the local hostels in the area. It'll provide a decent kick-start in a business career, we all desperately seek, and its possible success will look good on any resume.

But like in most plans, it is nice to find another person to discuss matters with, and If someone happens fancy the idea, I'm always looking for a partner to do a few market analysis, and analysis of competitors in the area and so forth, but also to debate various options to make the 'concept' come true.

If there is something wrong with my English language, it is probably because I'm from The Faroe Islands, so excuse me please.

Happy to hear from you people, and I'd love some feedback.

Sincerely

Óli Jacobsen.

It should have market that hostel locate like this place, but I think maybe many person have similar idea as yours. It's important how you make your hostel outsand, maybe it's sepcail decoration, maybe it's very nice food , maybe, it be comfortable as family, in short you must have some special selling point to attract customer and make your hostel different from others.good luck!

Good ideas.

The hostels in the more or less specific area I'm thinking of starting one, are generally known to be unsafe by the locals, and experienced travelers. I think starting a hostel that has the reputation of being safe for regular families, backpackers and what not, might knock of the other competitors.

The idea is basically to provide quality at severely low prices, using various building techniques, and other ideas to make the hostel cheaper to run. It won't make me a billionaire, but yeah its good for a starter like me.

Any more feedback would be awesome, thanks.

Sincerely Óli.

In china , there are new promotion for hostel like this :You can choose your room according to your mood. Do you believe if there is such hotel? The Shenzhen Vision Fashion Hotel is a unique modern design hotel and also China's 1st artistic hotel. Inside the Shenzhen Grand Theatre at the corner of Shennan Road and Hongling Road, it provides fashion and trend, dream and passion thus representing a brand new era of Modern China. Being the first true design hotel in real meaning in the area, it combines modern and fashionable physiology, arts, paintings, music, movies and photographic. The hotel itself is a perfect art museum with a totally different concept at this atmosphere. .

Also in Swiss, there is family hostel: Nature, calm and green especially there are many many different pillowes you can choose .very nice

Well those hostels seem to be for the people who are more... Wealthy.

Considering that it is mostly Spaniards, Portuguese people, Italians Argentinians/Brazilians and Americans visit the Caribbean, it would be ideal to use the most price efficient method in order to adapt to those markets. People from those geographic locations (Except the US) generally do not have money to pay for those rather expensive hotels, so implementing a price efficiency method is required, in order to 'catch' the market we're specifically aiming for.

In order to run a hostel, you have to be on your maximum hostel capacity most of the time, to make ends meet. Its sorta like the McDonald's principle, sell a lot, and earn a bit from the severe sales volume, instead of selling at high prices.

Those were hotels you mentioned right?
