Home business insurance - selling jewellery

I'm going to be selling clothing, accessories and jewellery online and running the business from home.

I WON'T be stocking the jewellery in the house. I tried to get a quote from Direct Line for home business insurance but they said they couldn't provide one. They said it's nothing to do with where I stock the jewellery, they just don't cover people who sell gold and silver jewellery.

Does anyone know of any home business insurance providers that will provide quotes for jewellery?

Hi

Just a word with regards to selling Jewellery from home.

Iam not sure what value your items will be, but i would advise a Secure PO Box number. Firstly you contact your local police, there security person will contact you then write a letter for you to send to the Royal mail, requesting that you have a Secure PO Box Number.

This meens when you get your PO Box off the Royal Mail, its will be Secure, is ensures that no third parties can get hold of your address appart from the Police.

If you just applied through the Royal mail directly they will give you an Unsecure PO Box number, this meens that anyone who rings them up can find out where the mail is been delivered to. What you dont what is someone turning up at 3am with a shot gun wanting to know where the jewellery is, its to much of a risk to you and your loved ones.

Additional to this the Royal Mail, even though you apply for a Unsecure PO Box they will link your business name to your private address and sell this to third parties. You will get bombarded by unsolicited mail.

I would strongly advise applying through the police for a Secure PO Box Number.

kind regards

Martin
