Home business - Insurance for stock

As the title says, I'm starting a home business (ecommerce).

I will have anywhere between £5,000 - £20,000 worth of stock (clothing).

I've obviously already got home insurance but when I enquired with my insurance co, they said they don't do commercial insurance.

My original plan was to rent out a self storage unit at the local safestore but I've got plenty of storage at home so wondering if it would work out cheaper?

Does anyone have any recommendations of companies who deal with this? Or would I be best off using self storage. If I did get commercial insurance would that along side my home insurance?

I'm confused and can't seem to find a clear answer.

Any help would be much appreciated.

You can get a policy called working from home insurance - this will cover liabilities stock and a few other optional extras. With some you also have the option to include your personal buildings & contents on some of the policy's.

We could take a look for you if required but any local broker should have access to this product.

Kind Regards
