Hits from another website

Quick question, looking at my webstats why would I get 21 hits to http://www.edwardmoss.co.uk/ from starlyjff.jimdo.com?

It's a site about Starcraft 2 with nothing I can see about photographers.

Expression Engine and no ads, I've had a look around the site and can't see any of my content. In my webstats the link is coming from the homepage.

Do your stats tell you which part of your site the vists came to ? It's likely that the other site put one of your images onto their site via a link to your site, thereby using up yor bandwidth not theirs.

Delving a bit deeper 18 hits came from search term release date starcraft 2, 13 from starcraft 2 protoss. Acording to stats "Links from an external page (other web sites except search engines)" 21 hits came from starlyjff.jimdo.com but can't find which page it links to in my webstats.

Do your stats tell you which part of your site the vists came to ? It's likely that the other site put one of your images onto their site via a link to your site, thereby using up yor bandwidth not theirs.

If they have done that, then best thing to do is send them a polite email regarding copyright and follow it up a few weeks later if not removed with something more legal. That'll do it...

Find a program that displays 'inbound' links or Google 'backlinks checker' to find one...
