Historic CCJ showing on dissolved company

Hi

I am the director of a dissolved company and have recently started a new job. They do credit checks and some how the link between myself and the dissolved company has come up and it is showing a CCJ which seems to be from before the company dissolved. Whilst I am not surprised and the amount isn’t particularly high, I wanted to understand if I should be concerned by this? Do I need to pay this CCJ off to get it removed from my record? I dissolved the company in 2019 using the spongebob plan. This is the first ‘issue’ I have had since.

What job would credit check companies you were previously connected with?

They may credit check you, but it would be strange to check companies.
Civil service for any role that involves any level of security? Financial services? Working with children? Security services? Just off the top of my head.

The CCJ should not be on your personal record, unless you are referring to a personal debt, or have been found personally liable for a company debt, perhaps under a personal guarantee, or due to an error.

The debt the CCJ relates to will have been written off after the company was dissolved.

While it shows on a search of the company it doesn't necessarily prevent getting certain jobs.
It may be a point of discussion for the employer to understand the circumstances if it could be something affecting the job.

Most companies do some form of credit check. It is a good test of honesty, ask a candidate to self-declare whether they've ever been bankrupt, received a CCJ etc. and then check to see if they are liar.

This is true, however they will not have received a CCJ on being a director on behalf of a company. The company received the CCJ, not the individual.

It is most certainly strange to credit check companies in this situation.

A straight google check on the name is normal. That shows company director, check on the company shows the CCJ. I would expect it to be pretty common.

I read it that the CCJ was issued to the director and not the company
The OP used the Spongbob plan and here once again we see the pitfalls of not using a proper professional.
This plan is only any use if your homeless !

Nobody wants to scupper their company but all aspects of what could happen should be taken into consideration right at the beginning ie the very first business plan ! .

Maybe it would be a wise idea for companies at all times to ring fence a "ship sinking plan fund " should the worse happen the IP could be brought in and these sort of things might be ironed out . Furthermore Im not sure if many IPs do this but it would also be good standard practice to check that the directors credit files have been effected by the companies activities when there is time to correct it

I read the title as the CCJ was a company one.

Regardless the spongebob plan works if you indeed have nothing to pay for proper professional to close the business.
That would be a lot less stressful method. Our bigger creditors mostly didn't hassle us, the smaller ones did.
But as we did it ourselves (via spongebob plan) we had all the stress for 9 months until company dissolved.
Amazon still chase us years later 'because your name is on the account' but they aren't stressful.
When cannot get past security questions relating to a card I last saw years ago they are dead easy to handle.
