Hi there,

A UK limited company would like to hire intern that are physically based outside the UK (most likely in the European Union or Switzerland).

Do you know how this could potentially work?

I understand that an EOR provider might be required but they usually charge around $500 management fee on top of social contributions which is quite costly relative to the intern comp.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

There's a whole heap of variance in here depending on what country you go for. The EU has frameworks and minimums but the actual employment law is largely determined at an individual state level. Take Spain vs Germany for example. In Germany, you're looking at something more akin to a formal employment contract but in Spain, the arrangement is often tripartite between the employer, educational institution, and intern.

Is there any reason the UK company doesn't want to source an intern from within the UK?
