Hi

I've just registered with UKBF and have found it really helpful already! I started my online business just over a year ago selling baby and nursery products.

The business is building more slowly than I would like....so I need some new ideas! I can see there is loads of experience and support here on the forum and I can't wait to get involved.

Hi Sharon - welcome to the forum :). Some things you should consider for when promoting your business:

* What is your unique selling point? There's no point in trying to be exactly like your competitors - your competitors already do a much better job at this and they already have the customers.

* Does the market have a need for your unique selling points? No point in selling yourself on points that nobody cares about.

* Is there a segment of the market that you can specifically target? Better to focus on one section to be specific to their needs than to target everyone, but not appeal to anyone individually.

* What is your route to market? Don't just rely on people finding your website - work with people who can make referrals to your website or sell your products from their website. Also, places like E-Bay are very good because they have an audience readily available.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Sharon

The good news is you will never run out of Market ! theres always babies being born :)
Competition stiff though , getting your products seen alway the difficult bit , i beleive from experience in your market customers will be loyal so a reward system for loyalty and a wide product range to stop people having the need to go elsewhere, as well as regular newsletters would be considerations i would have

Hope you having fun !

Paul
