Hi there UKBF,
I'm a danish head of product of Ubivox.com, a newsletter turnkey solution (basically we try to make it easy and simple to design, write, send & evaluate effective business newsletters). You know.. like campaign monitor, mailchimp, aweber etc, just based in Denmark (servers are moving to Amsterdam soon though) and with a more european focus and mentality.
I've joined UKBF to learn a bit about the UK business environment, since we are trying to bring our service to the UK (ubivox.co.uk), and i hope to learn about the local challenges and standard conventions regarding newsletters and email marketing in the UK. We strongly believe that we need to adapt to and understand each market/country and it's challenges.
We're not a large V.C. founded mega company (currently 7 employees), but a small bootstraped company (by decision) started as a web development agency 10 years ago, so we make due with the resources we got and take things bit by bit. What we lack in size, we make up for in dedication and experience

We do all our system development and server administration in-house, since we believe that a tight control of our software stack and production platform is enabling us to make a stronger product and fix things quickly if problems arise. We also like getting our fingers dirty and be able to optimize on every level of the stack, and look in every log-file to debug an issue.
On a personal level I'm 33 years old, co-founder of the company together with 3 other partners and have a 2 year old boy together with my lovely fiancé.
Before we started Ubivox, I've worked for Lycos Europe (The company i worked for originally was bought by Spray, which was then bought by Lycos Europe) as a frontend developer and had quite a lot of dealings with our departments in the UK, so I know a bit about the London area and development scene, but is a long time ago and things change quickly in these neck of the woods.
I've been lurking around in UKBF the last couple of days, and it looks like theres a lot of interesting stuff going around in here, so hopefully I'll be able learn a bit or two about how we could make our newsletter service better for UK companies, both end users and agency partners.
I'm looking forward to join the conversation and learn new stuff.
