Hello, I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Peter I work for a local manufactoring company.
Due to some of the pressures we are all experiencing,we are looking to expand the buisness remit, and look at using the freespace at the factory to
create extra income, either by renting the space out, or moving into sales.
I wonder if there is a way of meeting others in a similar situation and discussing ways forward, we have items for sale in some big retail stores.
However they are being threatened with cuts and closures, so we are seeking other ways of sustainable income.
The buisness has over 40 years of dealing with some of these companies.
Difficult times indeed.

Welcome Peter. We're also looking to rent space out - we have a combination of office and warehouse space, but there seems to be a surfeit of it already in the local area! What is it that you manufacture? Is there any way you could sell directly to the consumer? How about licensing or exporting your products? Have you tried talking to your local Business Link for ideas - they may be able to help you - many BLs offer free business mentoring. Or try going along to some local networking groups - you may find the people there very helpful... try BNI, BRE - if your local paper has a business section, they may have a list of breakfast meetings, or your local Chamber of Commerce could get you started.
