Hi! Thanks for the comments guys. I guess for me web 2 graphics - as well as just being a web fashion at the moment - means the high quality / rich designs we can deliver without having to worry as much about connections speeds as designers in the past had to. Also using web 2 techniques you can deliver websites very quickly - and hence affordably. Even a splash of rich web 2 graphics on a page can really brighten up a site.

Good for you James, that's exactly what I've been thinking....criticism is very useful when its constructive, but Colin was really only asking for feedback on his site, which he's taken on board; I sort of got that feeling that people were losing that and just trying to pick holes in his posts and it seemed to be turning into a bit of a witch hunt....

I tried the site out and couldn't get it to come up beyond the home-page. One good thing I do is to offer a fiar bit of free advice (like some generic SEO tips - not like anybody couldn't find them anyway)

Timing is everything. Your timing on putting your site up for a bashing wasn't good.

I'm sure you are a very good designer and you obviously have some tricks up your sleeve on ranking; but take a step back and look closely at what you need to be to make the proposition you want to be respected for.

I for one know you have it in you as I have the experience to know better; but believe me people act only on what they see fulfils their NEEDS and WANTS.

Take another look at their NEEDS and work that into your site. Then stroke there WANTS with the best copy you can mustier. I look forward to seeing your new site.

Hi Guys, thankyou kindly for your advice - as difficult as it was to take so much criticism - overall I have definately had some priceless market research. Thanks especially to Maria - was as you can imagine getting a bit stressed out by this - you managed to reverse the tide of that - thankyou.

rob - yes good idea i think i will definately do that.

Gotum - you are right - I very definately appreciate that - guess there is an art in not letting people see something until it is fully ready to be appreciated. I guess as a designer i love seeing things half the done - fills me full of ideas and thoughts - whereas for other people i guess they just think it looks empty - or they get annoyed when they cant click on everything.

Have moved it on the proper server now and my Apacheman has done the virtual hosting so it is online with the final DNS. Have a website for a Cardiovascular Consultant needs doing for end of today - and another i need to start on saturday - so wont get this website done til next week now. Will give you all a shout when its finished.
