Hi all, my name is Simon and my wifes name is Debbie, and together we are the partners of Wheelie Ads. Please be patient with us as we are new to forums and new to business. We are now approaching the end of our first year of trading and, apart from January to March, have survived quite well. Please take a look at our website and feel free to make any suggestions or comments about any aspect.

We have up to now got all our business from overspill work from other Advan businesses, but would like to start getting clients of our own, our rate card is comparable to our competitions web price, however we are flexible, and would appreciate feedback, ie is it too high for smaller businesses? would you consider using the medium?
We are looking forward to reading the posts and gaining knowledge, you never know we may even be able to pass some knowledge on - doubt it! LOL.

Hi Simon & Debbie - a few typos on the website on the menus. ie photo's should read photos & quotation's should read quotations.. plus the buttons don't download all that well. Like the sound effects though lol!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on making it through your first year!

In terms of your website, Anne has already pointed out some of the grammar mistakes and the slow download. At first I thought it was due to your animated logo, at 300K it's rather large. However, I think the problem is the underlying HTML. There are over 1100 lines of HTML to produce the page. I looks like it was created using MS Word as it has lots of Microsoft specific HTML stuff. This is probably slowing down the rendering of your pages.

If the page was built using HTML and CSS it would be a fraction of the size and load like lightning!

I have to echo the points made about the site. Is this a main source of enquiries for you. Will you be fairly reliant on this as your main promotional media? If so you could probably do with a little assistance on the web design front.

Anyway, well done for the first year, I wish you improving success next year and onwards.

Although there are a lot of business failures in the first year, it doesnt automatically mean that it cannot fail in the second, just that hopefully the business owners have learnt a lot quickly or they have just been lucky

In oredr to remain in business and make good returns the business should always look at itself critically and ask whether it is doing the best it can or are there areas it can improve upon.

A static business is usually a dead one!!!

I am pleased I have resisted the temptation to make a pun about bins.... well done on your first year and good luck for the future. Welcome to the forum.

I like your website. Looks good. As has been pointed out, it is a bit ill under the hood. I strongly suggest you get on the web types on this forum to clean it up for you. Should only take a morning if they keep the existing basic layout and content.
