We are currently looking to expand into the commercial market for our business and wondered if anyone here could advise on the best way forward with this.
With the up and coming TV digital Switchover we were hoping to gain work from councils/hospitals/building contractors etc

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Looking at your thread and your website, I think mobile marketing would be great for you, since this enables you to target the leads you want as well as their location.

This way helps you find tenders through click-to-website, click-to-call and click-to-map.

On Facebook, you can, also, search for businesses in your area that may be interested in your services.

Best wishes,

Joyce A.

If the contracts you are chasing are from the public sector, then depending on the size and length of the contract then they will have to publish the tender in the European journal (I think). I look at the TED website that shows all the tenders that have been issued across the EU. To win these kinds of contracts can be a time consuming, and frustrating process, as you have to jump through lots of hoops.

If the contracts aren't large enough to be published, then you should approach the procurement (or shopping, as my OH likes to call them) departments for bodies you are interested in working with and see what you need to do to get on to their approved supplier lists. I warn you, this can be an equally time consuming and frustrating process. Once you are on that, you need to find out what process they follow for tenders. Some publish them on their websites, others expect you to be pro-active. I think there is a requirement for councils to get at least 3 quotes for any work they do, above a certain value, but I'm not sure what this value is.

Thanks for your input everyone so far.

We have now been invited to tender for our 1st contract.

Is it better for us to put our paperwork together ourselves then employ a professional to look over and advise us how to improve?

Has anyone got any experience to guide us?

Thanks

It depends.

The last tender I won all the H&S gumph and alot of the annoying paper work had already been done by the Council.

The PQQ was really simple and all I had to do was fill in the numbers.

On other similar value contracts the tender docs have been so complex I just gave up on them.

Is there any area you are unsure of? Is it public sector work?

Its for a housing association needing over 1,000 properties to be upgraded to a digital aerial

Its just so HUGE!! All the detail we think we can do but I just wondered if there was a professional that could help us with grammar/design etc.,

I have written a number of bidding documents over the years and would be happy to give you a hand.

The two largest were the Single Regeneration Budget Challnge Fund £9.9 million and European Regional Development Fund £496,000.

Feel free to drop me a PM and I will pass on my home number.

Hi everybody,Guerilla Gardening is a really interesting idea, and for this reason I have a question:I'm from Stuttgart, Germany, and I am a member of the organizing team of an alternative youth caf?. We meet once a month and have different themes each time. Now we plan an evening about guerrilla gardening - with practise, of course :- . My question is: Is it still possible to go gardening in june? This would be the best for us, but we wonder if it is too late for the plants to grow.... Has anybody tips which plants can be plantet in june? Thank you very much Isabell

Many SME businesses who want to tender for larger contracts (i.e. from local authorities, NHS Trusts, the MOD, etc) are seemingly overwhelmed by the requirements of the tender process.

I am looking to set up a business risk management consultancy concentrating on the SME market which will provide straightforward cost-effective advice / guidance to help organisations demonstrate that they have the formal management systems in place for health & safety, environmental and quality processes that can help win those larger contracts.

If this would be of assistance, please let me know and we'll discuss further.

Regards
