Help with bounce and conversion rates

I am a new business and have not had many hits I believe only about 50 who may have actually been interested in my services. However my bounce rate is 44% and my conversion rate is zero. I would be really interested to hear what anyone thinks my website problem areas are,

Do you have google analytics installed? It will tell you where the people went and how long they stayed.

I would say the top banner puts me off, and the content isn't engaging. You need to tell people what you do e.g.

Wedding and Event Planning in town name

We are rattytatty and we plan your weddings and events to a high standard. We have been running x years and can cater for the normal and extraordinary requests.

You need to grab your visitors as soon as they drop onto the page.

Do you mean that you have only had 50 visitors? If so, this is not really enough data to go on. In what period of time have you had these visitors? Do you know the source of the traffic?

Regarding the site, to be honest with you it simply isn't good enough, particularly for this market. I would highly recommend you hire a professional web designer and copywriter to redo your website.

And unless you have a really strong reason for the name Rattytatty Designs, I would seriously reconsider rebranding.

Not trying to be mean, just trying to help.

to get more traffic to your site you need to improve your SEO.

I'd start by changing your page titles to match what you would expect people to type into google when looking for your services.

the page title is part of the html header between the <title></title> tags and gets displayed at the top of the browser.

so the home page title could be something like "Wedding planning and events management". add your location to that if you only serve a certain area. if you want to, you could add your business name to the end of all that, but you need to match your page titles to what people would type into google. the first word is the most important match and then the second etc.

so currently, unless someone types "RattyTatty Designs" into google, they are not going to find your web site. someone typing in "wedding planning" and actually looking for services like yours wouldn't find your web site.

and once you get them to your web site, they need to be impressed within the first few seconds or else they'll click Back and look elsewhere (we're still working on that bit, ourselves).

I'd suggest removing your banner and putting the pictures of roses and wine glasses etc at the top of your page. that looks much more professional than the banner and text.

I hope that helps

regards

Tom
