Hi guys,

I am recently unemployed, I have no family ties or committments and was considering starting my own business.

However I am short of ideas and would welcome any advice you may have?

About me:

Im 27
Have £2000 in savings
Have IT experience which I enjoyed
Love Cricket
Enjoy meeting and helping people.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Princes Trust only goes up to 25 doesn't it, so I am afraid to say that ones out of the equation.

Maybe you could create a cricket scores service, although the competition would be high so you would have to be good at it.

Otherwise people have set themselves up websites, and just made money through the advertising, but you need to get visitors which could then be the tricky bit.

Away from cricket, you could try buying and selling on ebay? Is that something you are comfortable with?

On the meeting people front it sounds like it would be a good idea to go to networking events as soon as you struck upon that idea. As then you could make some beneficial new friends who might help out in the future, whilst if you dont then at least its something fun to do and might get the imagination rolling.

You're not quite past it yet!

From The Princes Trust website:

Is it for people like me?

The Enterprise Programme is for people who:
  • Have a business idea they want help to explore
  • Are aged 18-30
  • Are unemployed or working less than 16 hours a week
  • Live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland
