Help!! Making Party Plan business a success!

Hi, does anyone have and ideas or suggestion on how to make a party plan business for fashion accessories successful. I'm thinking of starting off by selling at fairs and then recruiting for people to host party events around the Buckinghamshire/Hertfordshire area. I was thinking of offering between 25%-35%, commission on the total sales made. But finding and recruiting people in hosting the parties is proving a problem and also knowing which fairs are the good ones to start off with!

Hi there

I recently hosted a party for a firm called Pampered Chef, which was for kitchen equipment and accessories. They gave a reasonable discount based on sales but I think the people who came to the party liked to be involved (all took part in cooking a pudding, which we then all ate) and could also see and handle a lot of the products. There were also small freebies on the night and a raffle, etc, which all seemed to go down well.
Getting people to host at the outset is obviously your main problem but once you get a few going it should snowball from there... I had three people book parties from my night.
Have you tried a leaflet drop around residential areas? Or find a way you can maybe do something for charity so that a press release to your local newspaper might raise your profile.
Here's where I cheekily add that we have a graphic design company so if you needed any leaflets, business cards or stationery we could help. And we also write press releases, too! Get in touch if you think we can help.
Regards
Alison
