Help choosing company name (Mortgage Brokers)

Hi Folks,

I am in the process of settng up a Mortgage Brokerage and am finding it hard to choose a name. Everything I seem to me coming up with is already in use.

I will mainly be operating a Mortgage Broker, however I will also give advice on insurance, debt management, financial advice, overseas, and will also be able to provide home reports.

Therefore I do not want to name my company something like "Mortgage Bureau" which indicated that you only do mortgages.

I am quite keen on something like "Money (Blank)" or "(Blank) Money", or something along those lines, therefore any ideas you have is much appreciated.

Thanks

Interesting career choice - I didn't think there were any mortgages to broke any more; a choice between 4.2% and 4.3% isn't it? Half the IFAs and mortgage guys I know are packing it in and going back to the 9-5 with banks and financial firms.

There is definitely still a market for us Mortgage Brokers.

I am currently making my employer £20,000 per month and only receiving 40% of this, and this is me providing my own leads, therefore makes perfect sense to set up on my own.

With regards to the interest rates....these are fantastic at the moment...deals there as low as 1.99%!!

You might find some ideas and pointers on my site, which is all about business names: http://www.winningnames.co.uk/index.php

Personally for a mortgage broker or financial adviser I would stick to something very traditional and staid as you want to convey an impression of seriousness and integrity. Whenever I see a company named Cheap Mortgages or something similar, it sounds tacky to me. I think the use of 'money' in a name does too; it sounds a bit like a get-rich-quick scheme.

I suggest you make a list of words that convey the right impression, then look them up in a thesaurus, which will give you more synonyms to add to your list. Then combine each word with Financial Services, Financial Planning, Finance, Personal Finance, or something similar, or even Money, if you must. Some words to start you off might be: Gravitas, Unity, Sage, Diligence, Assiduous. Many of the synonyms won't be suitable eg synonyms of 'serious' include grim, humourless and dour, which you can ignore.
