Hi Everyone

My name is Lisa and I launched my on-line baby shop in May 2007.

Are there any other baby/child related business? Get in touch.

Hope to speak to many of you over time.

I have had a few sales, but its really hard trying to get your site recognised.

My site is linked to ebay and I have generated quite a few sales through that, although I was reluctant to do this.

Nice to speak to you.

You can start by putting a link in your signature.
Like mine (freelance web developement) but make the title of the link something that is relative to your site eg. Baby Clothes. This will help with links coming into your site.

Hi Lisa,

Welcome to the forum. I am also a member of the Mum's Club forum which I see you are also.
I am sure you will find this site a really useful and friendly one.
If you would like to exchange links between our sites then I would be more than happy to do so.

Hi Lisa and everyone else,

I too am new to this site and in new to advertising!

Although I have had my screenprinting business for just over 3 years we have worked purely on word of mouth. The connection we have with the baby/child business is that our biggest seller is our Big Brother/Sister T-Shirt. We feel the reason for this is because our t-shirts are screenprinted individually the old fashioned way. They are not mass produced or computer generated. They are more environmentally friendly because we use waterbased inks and this gives a soft feel to the hand.

As I have mentioned this way of advertising, we have just started a website elsewhere, is new to us. We now feel it is time to move more into the 'retail' wholesale market in either small/big way.

So I look forward to 'virtually' getting to know you all and learning lots of new ideas.

Best Wishes
Pauline

Nice site Blush. Pity I've got a boy!

Have you been to any trade fairs at all?

I don't think I'm up to that stage yet, maybe next year. How do you find your wholesalers? This is something that I have found difficult.

Hope to speak to you again.

Pleasure Lisa!

I run a business message board as well, but mine one focuses on Chinese enterprises looking at doing business in the UK and vice versa. Feel free to visit and introduce your online shop to us in the Marketing Section!! You knowledge in the UK market will be valuable to us! See you there Lisa! Let me know if there is anything I could help!!

Regards
Ken

Hi Lisa
the off price fair is coming up shortly, not sure if I will make it this time but I have an email sitting in my inbox with the invite still:redface: If you don't already kno about it I will pass the details on.This is why you will meet all the ex-store suppliers etc
What kind of suppliers are you looking for?
Whatever you do, DON'T pay for any lists!!! There are all out there for free if you look hard enough. If I like somethign I google the manufacturer also.Doesn't always work but does quite often.I then email them, wore they can say is no.I stay away from minimum orders if I possibly can but my bigger suppliers insist on this though.I have negotiated with some though after trding with them for a bit.
