Hello to everyone who is reading this! Nice to meet you.
My name is Ria and in the last couple of months I have started my own small online business.
I currently stock, scarves, handbags and jewellery, although this is not yet all online.
I took a massive step in leaving my job which I was excelling in and decided to take the daunting steps into starting my own business. I figured, why spend so much time in the rat race making someone else's business hit targets and make sure their performance was on top, whilst I was just another body keeping the ship afloat.
I have decided I want to be the "ship" and I want to work just as hard for myself - at least this way I get to reap the rewards of my hard work.
So, my business is new and although I know which direction I want to go in (and that's up), I have decided to join this forum for advice from other people who have been in my position.
I currently only have a small range (I'm on a very tight budget after leaving my job) - the handbags and jewellery are the products I really know are high quality and would love to be able to focus on these. I am currently selling on Facebook, I also have an Instagram and Twitter account but Facebook is primarily my main tool. Some may laugh - but I have ambitions and I am a hard worker, therefore I am determined to make my business work. Small or Big!
Can I also add, that I am 100% a people person, I will talk to anyone and I'm not socially uncomfortable - please bear that in mind if you have advice for me.
Thanks again for reading my introduction (nice to know you read it all) and I would really appreciate any feedback and advice.
Ria
