Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and look froward to speaking with many of you.

I am starting my own baby/kids online store and I ma aware there are many on here who have done so already.

I want to use my name and surname as the name of the company which is 'Nonsi' but someone recently warned me that my name is similar to the unfortunate word nonce and this could cause ridicule or people will have a negative attitude towards the company since it will be baby+kids apparel.

My name is an African name meaning 'gifted' but now I'm not sure whether to use it as the company name or change it completely.

Any views on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't call it Nonsi. I made the unfortunate connection as soon as I read it.

Maybe use its English meaning within your company name instead.
