Hi - I'm Chris,

After an acquisition that resulted in my redundancy in September 2014, my previous customers approached me to take on work for them so I took a leap of faith and started my own business but working freelance as a software training and implementation specialist.

Technology essentially 'found me' back in 1996 when I landed a job on a travel technology help desk. I quickly discovered that I had an aptitude for learning computer software, it was logical and it made sense. I soon realised that not everyone in the work place had the same experience when introduced to technology. I found that I had the ability to explain systems and technical information clearly and patiently, so that non-technical individuals could learn quickly and confidently and make the most of the solutions that are the tools of their trade.

In my first year I completed several projects for past customers and I am now looking for new opportunities and projects, which will keep me busy and hopefully lead to me expanding my company I am confident in what I do but I am no marketing expert and never consider myself a 'Sales person'....so I joined this forum and I am keen to take advice from others on how best to grow my business and make my services know to others.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Thanks for taking the to read..
Chris

    Hi Chris, interesting intro.

I find it quite fascinating that different people can have such opposite skill sets to my own. Based on your post I'd say that my skills are the complete polar opposite of yours. Technology makes no sense to me, but marketing seems like nothing more than common sense. Just goes to show that we are all probably best focusing on the skills that come naturally to us I suppose.

    Anyway, welcome to the forum.

Thank you all! Looking forward to getting involved.

I have a meeting with business coach tomorrow (following successful sessions on start-up programe last year) so I'm hoping that will give me the kick I need and then I'll be back for thoughts/advice!
