Hi All,
Second post on the forum here so I better introduce myself.
I'm currently stuck in a pretty dead end job just now and I feel that progression even just to the next level will be the best part of 5 years away. I studied accountancy at Uni but having been away for it 18 months I'm finding it nearly impossible to get a CA Training contract with all the new graduates coming out. I've always wanted to be self employed and figure I want to do it before I turn 25 next year.
After a badly broken ankle in a rugby accident, I've spent so much time in rehab in the gym which got me thinking about the benefits of both fitness training but also the requirement for the diet to match the needs of the individuals goals.
I've always used meal plans from Tesco (family) and MuscleandFitness(training) and the like to plan out my weeks meals. What I have found annoying is the fact that it is always just a week and although Tesco has a randomize option, it only suggests one meal as a replacement.
I'd love to see a website, designed for fitness enthusiasts, loaded with recipes in different categories (High Protein, 40/40/20 Macro splits etc) where you can choose your stage of training whether this is bulking, shredding etc and it will generate a random plan every time. Not the same in 4 weeks time where you are running out of other options, but a database of multiple recipes and an ever changing plan for the individual. Meal Prep is often done in advance and so I think people would enjoy making something different each week.
My partner is IT based and she is in the process of building the website but my real dilemma is how to make this a money generating business. I've seen one website that has a similar idea in the states but haven't found much over this way. They base it on a subscription of approx $4 per month for access and that allows you unlimited meals, save the ingredients you like etc. What I want to base it on is a food diary that is tailored towards your individual training goals on a goal by goal basis.
My questions are;
1. Do people think there is a demand for this? My target market is not only individuals but Gyms, PT's and Nutritionists
2. Subscription based or generating income via suppliers (musclefood, myprotein etc) advertising? Your thoughts on pro's/con's.
Any and all thoughts appreciated, and hello once again
