Healthy vending machines

I can't recall seeing many of these on my travels.
Seem pretty big I'm American.
Have you seen any healthy vending machines as you go round doing your business?
Would you use one of it was situated next to a traditional one full of crisps and chocolate bars?

Wondering what the best way to market would be, either set up yourself , buy a couple of second hand machines and build up slowly or to the franchise route, or approach an American franchise and try to become the agent for the UK?

Usually see them in hospitals and GP surgeries.
Never seen anyone use one.

Good question!

You would think in today’s market that there would be a plethora of ‘healthy vending machines’ - unfortunately there are not. Having been in the operational side of vending for over 25 years - now retired from that side of the business - we trialled healthy snacks on numerous occasions and unfortunately those products did not sell and customers always opted for high sugar/fat (chocolate) items which will give them a quick boost of energy.

My feeling is that in years to come the healthier option will become the preferred choice for the next generations to come, but not today as most will opt for the quick fix.

I recall a healthy snack vending franchise which launched - unfortunately the business did not stay around for long.

Would probably be interesting to try and tap into the schools market... I know the academy I attended had a couple of regular ones in op. for a while. Think the snacks were replaced with (healthy) soft drinks after a while though!
