ok.

I manage over 60 domains on Heart internet, and in the last 2 years, one was hacked via a SQL injection in a poorly coded module. I have just looked at all of the sites, and there is no evidence of anything going on with any of them

To be fair to Heart internet, they pulled the hacked site down faster than anything

This thread is quite old, and they have introduced a FTPl ock (ages ago)

Does anyone have a site on a server flagged as an issue server /site at organisations like SPAMHAUS? If whole servers were effected, this would most certainly be the case, and it would be big news. There currently is no big news

To be fair, Spamhaus is not up to date with everything. Take the individual ultimately behind the hack on Heart Internet (Anton Gorodov). Spamhaus are showing information on him that is older than my granny.

We are not talking eons in terms of this attack, we are talking of days. Now I am no security expert but I do suffer from regular bouts of common sense and I think that the evidence is starting to point to a web server security failure. Either that or over 700 website owners in the UK alone (a) got themselves a bad dose of something on their PC's and (b) simultaneously left their websites unlocked (default is locked) with Heart on the night of Friday 14th January.

Big news has got to start somewhere. Then again, maybe I've been swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool for too long
