Has anyone else had issues with Regus Spaces?

I have had a really bad experience with them, they induced me to sign a lease with financial incentives, misrepresentation and false promises!

They did not stick to any of their side of the deal and I am starting legal proceedings this week.

Common scam here.. best for new business to get experience of sharks out there.. Been there for a decade and seen many come and ago after being 'abused'. Most new businesses are naive thinking corporates are their friends.. they are not... they will abuse you. First basic of running a business is read the contract !. Wish you luck and am 100% sure you are in the right, hopefully you have all the evidence required.

So what actually did the contract you signed say, which was not true, and if something you agreed with them was not later in the contract why did you not bring it up before signing

Many people new to business fail to understand the need to fully read all the small details in a contract and expect it to be fair to both parties, they don't realise its written for the benefit of the seller and only the seller; and your job is to understand the contract and not sign until you have it adjusted to something you can agree on

It seems that most newcomers to business have to loose a few hundred pounds in learning the hard way to read a contract and if needed call in expertise to help you understand what you are signing. The larger the company the more money will be spent on them getting every penny they can out of the other person, hidden in the small print things like cancellation needs to be made within a 30 day period one month before the renewal date otherwise the contract will be extended for a three year period or payment will be made in 90 days after the first day of the following month of issue

The problem with Regus is that people think its a free lunch... and its not.. they advertise low rates and get the punter in, then small print just knocks them for six. Other office providers have transparent pricing, so appear less competitive than Regus. Overall you are likely to pay more for Regus if you get caught in their auto-renewal process.

When a solicitor went through the full contract there was various charges and tie in periods that came under unfair contract. The main thing was that after notice period and termination I would still have to pay 3 months rent. This is going back to 2014 so don't know if its still in there but there was quite a lot of people taking action because of this

I am not a solicitor, but not sure unfair business terms is relevant on a B2B contact. B2C is different. gov.uk unfair-terms-in-sales-contracts unfair-business-contracts (can't post a link)

If you need a hand to resolve this, PM me. There is as always a charge of 20% of recoverable plus court fees (£20-400) depending on claim amount. If you signed a contract then you signed it. If that said 12 months termination charge, then that is not unfair at all. I could have sold you a 50pence a month space with a 12 month termination charge, how I cost my service is up to me.

I am not sure a solicitor cost is worth it.. as the small claims court looks at wider than just specific legal content. Your not going to high court as I trust the claim amount is too small.
