Hand written receipt

Hi all,
I run a home based baking business and have recently purchased a secondhand mixer from a private sale.
My question is, would a hand written receipt be good enough for HMRC?

Yes, if includes the seller's name and address, description of goods and the price.

Yes absolutely it would be fine if you have the correct information detailed by Scalloway above. Also remember if you have a printed receipt you still need that information on it, so even if the printed receipt at first glance looked like a receipt you would get from a large long established business, if it did not have the required information on it, it would not be proper receipt while the scrap of paper with the required information written on it by hand would be a proper receipt.
