Dear all,

I just want to recommend this site to you.

http://www.hamilton-house.com/index.htm

Also have a look at this one too
http://www.mailing.org.uk

I have been part of their discussions list and found really valuable information about giving ways to optimise your mailings.

The guy in charge of it all has a wealth of knowledge too.

Hope it helps.

I will be distributing just over 3,000 packs to schools in April and will be using a lot of the advice to get optimum results.

We do not do mail-outs and have never done so.

All our work comes from word-of-mouth and our websites. However, we may consider doing mail-outs to small businesses when our main site is finished. We feel that in our work, money is better spent on internet marketing rather than conventional methods

I would probably agree with you if I had the same experience on the matter. As it is I am still developing the website and am finding it quite a challenge :?

But at the same time I've got stock to shift so the sooner this website is up and running the better.

From experience, I strongly recommend that you invest in the website and ensure that the site is developed to a good standard. Haven't checked your site yet ;)

We develop our own sites and use selected developers. Getting a good developer on board is the key to success because from experience the developers we used in the past were unreliable. Getting our own servers also gave us full control.

I just started reading the mailing.org website and although the info seems interesting, the layout and overall quality of the site is very poor.

a perfect example of whay jonathan was saying.

(I know, our site isn't THAT much better but I am working on it - or working on getting a designer to sort it out more like).

Jon - I haven't got a website developed yet.
I am currently trying to design what I want it to look like on Adobe software.

Actually, you've got me thinking on another project I am involved in. I am looking to do a website like this:
http://www.cozmocard.com/deck/

But for London.

How much would it cost to do such a site and have me maintain it?

Seabro - Although I agree that the website is very basic, I do like it as I can see that it may not be aesthetically rich it is certainly information rich.
