she knew she wasnt coming back to work at all... yet asked us... her company to provide her with a letter stating she WAS coming back.. so she could obtain a new mortgage... That is fraud surely?

the lender now believes she is going to be working full time and lent her money accordingly

How do you know she is not going to be working full time? Just because she left your company doesn't mean she is never going to work again?

You have nothing to complain about, by the sounds of it she has given you cause to put the flags out but you are still finding ways to moan

How can anyone be 'late' in handing in their notice?

As others have said, accept it, and move on.

If she were really smart (or really wanted to muck you about) could she not return to work on the 21st Nov, but immeadiatly go on leave that day, for the amount of days holiday she has - during which she would be accruing more holiday that you would have to pay for ... !

Or go on the sick with PND, no doctor in the land would refuse a mum a sick note for post natal depression.

I was hoping to hear that explanation too!

Also, the OP did not explain himself clearly then cops an attitude at people thinking his company were offering insane holiday pay rather than the standard rates.

Number 1 not got the first thing to do with you

Number 2 at the time she might have had every intention of coming back

number 3 she might have another job lined up

number 4 see number 1 again

Please advise how you hand in your notice late? I would love to hear an explanation for that!

Handing in notice late:

Hands in twenty eight day notice on letter dated 1st of month. im finishing on 28th. Letter arrives on 2nd.

Technically last day should be 29th?

Basically trying to finish a day early on notice period I think.

That said this whole thread seems silly!
