My small business which I have run for 2 years now has been doing well on Etsy, my website and also Thortful.

I am now looking at wholesale but it’s a little slow so been looking at other options such as companies such as Thortful for some extra opportunities.

while looking, I have came across a few sites such as UKGreetings and wondered if anyone had ever used such a place.
I see if you submit and if your design is picked and you sell this to them, it i belongs to them, which is straight forward but just wondered if they have any terms to this sale which may cause issues to my business and future designs (obviously not similar designs sold to them)

We have been buying Greetings Cards fro Rosie Made A Thing, Berni Parker and Alex Clarke.
They all operate their own retail and wholesale website. They generally expect us to buy 6 cards in a pack but not all of them. Our margin is that we get 50% off the retail price.
Get Wordpress and create your own site.

I would agree with above build your own site and continue to sell direct as you are doing now. I would certainly google all the local gift shops etc in your immediate area, even suggesting a visit to some areas armed with samples. Now might be a good time to strike too as if stocks of gift cards on the shelves in our local supermarket are anything to go by there are hardly any to choose from and I was under the impression they are struggling to get supplies in.

    Thanks guys,
I have my own Shopify site after selling well on Etsy and social media platforms as well as my designs on sites like thortful etc
I’m currently contacting local businesses whom I think would suit selling my cards for wholesale opportunities but at the moment, it’s gone quiet.

after seeing a few sites like UKGreetings looking for submissions but you loose rights to using that design again if selected. I was wondering if anyone has ever gone down this route.
    Thanks :)

I have taken a look at Thortful and they are very nice. We would consider selling them at our shop in Spain. We could even consider being your Wholesaler here. However, if you are retailing £3.29 we as a retailer would want to buy them at around £1.15 plus VAT and as wholesaler a little less than this. Can you do this? If not what prices would you consider at Wholesale and retailer rates?
