Got a Royal Mail PPI Account? Then Please Help!!!

Hi All

I am needing some help with a, in my view, strange problem!

After gradually increasing the amount of letters we post each month we thought it would be a good idea to apply for a PPI account with royal mail.

Anyway, after a few weeks of promised return calls from RM we finally managed to speak to someone and did a sort of telephone interview and then told they would have to do a credit check on us and they would get back to us.

Around a week later we got an email stating we passed the credit check and have a £2000 credit limit on our account and that a direct debit form had been sent out that we must return.

We returned the Direct debit form and then waited for instructions on how to use the PPI account.

However we never heard no more. we then emailed the contact to ask if they received the DD ok and got a reply saying yes and that someone would be in touch to help us set things up.

Well that was around 8 week ago and despite repeated emails etc from us chasing them up no one has ever got in touch!!

I think you need something called an OBA (online business account) with the RM to log into to print the PPI's but we have tried to register an account but just get the message that someone from the RM will get in touch to finalise the opening of the account.

My Question: Has anyone on here got an OBA or PPI account with the RM and how did you find setting it up? what should I expect, will someone just ring us one day out of the blue and set up the online account and walk us through how to use it? Like I said at the beginning of the rant I find it strange they can credit check you etc and you pass but then don't tell you how to use the thing!!!

Any help really appreciated

When I set up mine a few years ago the process was fairly straight forward. I cannot remember how long it took but once I was accepted they pretty much held my hand and walked me through the whole process.

You will be assigned an account manager who will be the person you need to contact for any problems/issues/questions.

I would just wait a bit longer, I don't think you can force anything through with something like this, it's a case of waiting for them to get in touch. I'm guessing that they have to add your details to their computer systems and assign you a PPI number, all of this will take time so I don't think 8 weeks is unusual. Once they do get in touch though everything runs very smoothly and quickly.
