Wasn't really expecting sales form outside the UK. So I never bothered to register for the prepaid VAT scheme. Where I pay the customers VAT and pay their relevant tax authortiy.

What are my options now? Just CN22 it and get the customer to pay the import VAT?

I'm going to get IOSS signup, just did a bit of research and can see that in FRance there is no VAT free amount, anything above €1 is vatable (exception for goods manufactured in UK, not manufactured in china and re-exported to France).

I think if I get the IOSS registered, and market it on the website as fully VAT paid for, it should generate more sales.

It definitely will as customers like to pay the inclusive price. However we don't and we state everywhere customer is viable for duty/VAT and our small out of UK sales are the same as before Brexit.

The problem is that, the 'all inclusive' price is not being honoured everywhere. See other posts about EU customers being charged despite having already paid the VAT/item sent via IOSS.

We sent a £30 item to France, and the customer had paid the VAT via eBay. We sent, customer was charged €14 for reasons unbeknown to me or him.

Most other stuff we send gets there without charges, but it brings the whole IOSS side of it into problems because it's almost pointless the customer using the 'seamless experience'.

    It's a true minefield.
